It would help if you give us an idea of dates.

Did parent search in IGI (www.familysearch.org) and found 6 children but they may not be the correct family-
1. Michael born 15 June 184 Finglas, Glasnevin, Co. Dublin (page 1 in civil register)
2. Eliza born 17 Aug.1868 Co.Dublin
3. Anne born 8 Aug.1870 Co.Dublin
4. Catherine born 8 Aug.1870 Co.Dublin
5. Ellen born 20 Oct.1874 North Dublin
6. Jane born 6 July 1878 Co.Dublin

Have you found John and Elizabeth in 1911 census yet? it would give an indication of marriage date and then you could find the certificate which should list fathers' names and occupations which will give an indication of social status.
