anything avery please

hey I'm looking for anything on the surname Avery my dad always says something about the averys being part of 5 original clans of ireland or something but the name may have been Anglicized to Avery since then..    he even has the family symbol tattooed  on his arm , its 5 intertwined links in typical Irish style
the other names of the clan are something like pyles, mcafferys, cant remember the others any help would be appreciated.. please note this is just a personal curiosity of my ancestry
