Alan/Agnetta

Bit of info may or may not be of some use. On the 1st war rolls i have there is a Private Henry Rosborough, number 15981, 10th Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, killed in action 1/9/1916.
Brother of Miss J.Rosborough 'The Rectory' Banagher Co Londonderry.

From the number Henry has it confirms he volunteered around September 1914 as an original member of the 10th Inniskillings, going over to France in October 1915 after training.

May be able to help with any City or North County 1st war connections if you have name/address.

Rob

Hi,
A couple of minor points on Private Henry Rosborough who died on 1 Sept 1916. He is not listed on the Londonderry nor Limavady War Memorials. The Ancestry Web site gives his place of birth as Bannagher, Kings County (Offaly). However the Presbyterian Church in Ireland Roll of Honour places him in Banagher, Presbytery of Glendermott ie Feeny, Co. Londonderry.

Browne, Barrett -Co.Armagh

Have now discovered that my great grandfather had two bothers.

Previously knew of Joseph Monteith Rosborough who married Mary Ann Leslie, whole family emigrated to Boston USA circa 1913. Mary Ann died shorterly after the family arrived in Boston. Joseph Monteith Rosborough returned to Ireland some years later and married twice. Mary Melville who died 20th June 1942 and Annie Dickson who died 6th August 1969. Joseph Died circa 21st February 1957 in the Carriackfergus district and is burried in Carrickfergus, Co. Antrim.

Have now discovered another brother called Robert Rosborrow born 17th March 1864 in Balloghanaden (Ballanhedin) Baptized in Banagher Presbyterian Church on 12th April 1864.

Robert emigrated to Boston circa 1885 and married twice having two sets of children. Second wife was called Inez Eunice (Maiden name unknown formerly from Canada).

Would still like to find more brothers and sister of these three boys, please keep an eye out for children born to John Rosborrow (spelling may be different) and Nnacy Ross from Ballanhedin Co Londonderry.

Thanks Alan.

I have now discovered that Robert's First wife was called Annie Rosborough and his second wife was called Inez Eunice Rosborough, I have a strong suspicion that these two wives were in fact sisters from New Brunswick Canada. Their parents were Robert Rosborough and Margaret Rosborough from Ireland...... so can anyone fill in the gaps? Have traced many descendants of Roberts through Ancestry and Family Search. Many descendants still live in the Boston area of America.

Alan.
