Tregarne Cottage in Langstone
« on: Sunday 08 November 09 14:40 GMT (UK) »
My great grandmother, when a small child, lived in Tregarne Cottage in Langstone. I am having difficulty locating this cottage and would be grateful for any help.

According to the 1891 census, the next property to this cottage was Cobblers Pitch on one side and Rose Cottage on the other. Other properties on the same page and those either side include - Old Pike (where my 3xgreat grandparents were living in 1891) Chapel Cottage, and New House, as well as New Inn (still the name of a pub on the main Chepstow Road).

When you type Cobblers Pitch into google, it gives you a property on the Old Roman Road (which joins Tregarn Road). Could it be, then, that Tregarn Cottage was on this road?

If anyone has Jessie Beames in their tree, her father George or mother Sarah Sheppard (or Sarah's parents, Mark and Elizabeth, those living in Old Pike), please get in touch.

I hope for some help and guidance on this one.

Thank you
