Hi tomk23

The more information you can give us, the better we may be able to help....

What information do you already have ? Donald's birth certificate? Any Census?
And what are you hoping to find now?

Cheers

I was told it was a possibility they came from wigton , we would like to know where Donald and his wife ended up , they just seem to have disappeared without trace, if we could find where his father came from that might help. we have got all the information on Elizabeths family except her.
                       Thanks Tom

Hi Tom

Have you tried searching for a marriage for Donald's parents? There is one showing in Moray in 1879 - Alexander Grant and Jessie Calder. You need to verify Donald's birth and place so it's a good way to start looking for parents' marriage to give you an idea on location.

Struggling to see parents Alexander and Jessie with a Donald in the 1891 census. The closest I can see if this entry in 1891. If the right entry it woud indicate that father may have died. I can only see a marriage for a Jessie Grant (not Calder) to a Francis Fraser in 1884 in Forres:

Francis Fraser 25, Railway Engine Driver, Abernethy, Invernessshire
Jessie Fraser 28, b. Abernethy, Invernessshire
Betsy Fraser 6 b. Forres, Morayshire
Jessie Fraser 3 b. Forres, Morayshire
Eliza Fraser 1 b. Forres, Morayshire
Donald Grant 9, stepson b. Inveravon, Invernessshire
Catherine Stewart 30, sister in law b. Duthil, Invernessshire
Francis F C Grant 1Month, niece b. Forres, Morayshire

Address: 15 Farm Bdgs, Forres Morayshire

Cannot see anything at all in the censuses with a Wigtowshire connection  :-\
