CORKISH and GARRET
« on: Tuesday 10 November 09 20:14 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
Can anyone help me with this:

I have a Henry Corkish who I think Married an Elizabeth Garret. They had a son, Thomas who was born in 1885.
Has anyone iny further information about the parents, siblings or further children of these people.
Hope someone can help.

Regards,

Tom.

Hi,
Thank you very much for you reply.
I know very little about this family.
Don't know any middle names.
Thomas was born in the Isle of Man in1885.....he is in ireland in the 1911 census.....he married and settled in ireland and died in 1947.
I only have a reference about his parents.
So.....any details at all will help a lot....particularly who his Grand Parents might be.

Thanks and best wishes,

Tom.

try http://www.isle-of-man.com/cgi-bin/interests/genealogy/bulletin/index.pl?noframes - the archives are often useful - census + igi should get you back (ask on that board if there are any MIs once you have determined possible burials - the possible Magee (not a manx name) could indicate irish (?catholic) connection. - all pre 1900 wills are on mormom film and the indices are on the iomfhs site - I've summaried about 10,000 18th C ones on www.manxnotebook.com - if you get back to a landowning family these records go back to early 16th C
