whats the liklihood of this occupation being either a irish gypsy or a romany?some evidence of movement around counties and also work on a ship.

thanks my friend seems i may b4 a jewish gypsy maternally and an tinker gypsy patenally.i m well pleased.how are you my dear?we are up to our eyes in trouble here and me still limping on one leg.i am really fed up!!!!have you any names over there as per robey,tarling,willey,scutt,godfrey,thorpe.thanks for any help you can give.robert has been a great help to me.oh and the last name higgins?

However it doesn't follow that because someone was described as a tin smith that they were a traveller.  My grandfather and great grandfather were described variously as tin smith or white smith in a number of censuses and they certainly weren't travellers.
