Samuel Gardner Garritt 53 Housekeeper in charge of house bnIpswich Suffolk
MAry Ann wife 50 b City of london
Emma Ann Dotesio 3 niece bn London

then she dies age 10 in 1868 (on FreeBMD)

Sad
It looks as if Emma (Charles 2nd wife by the look of it, thus Mairina's step mum)
dies giving birth to Emma Ann or soon after

Birth Emma Ann Dotesio
Oct/Nov/Dec 1857 Newington

Death Emma Dotesio
Oct/Nov/Dec 1857 Newington

then Emma Ann with rellies in 1861 as found

then Emma Ann dies 1868 Newington aged 10

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/
 - shows Charles Dotesio, originally from Milan, became a British citizen in 1844.

http://newspapers.bl.uk/blcs/
 - several mentions here for Dotesios, I think there may be a death in 1864 for Charles but you would have to pay to see the full info. (Also a notice of Mirina's marriage in 1876).

books.google.com shows up a death notice for Charles Dotesio in 1864 - he died in Paris. "Late of the Royal Hotel of Slough".  Also a 1851 marriage for the same gentleman, to Elizabeth, daughter of Mr Edw. Paynter, Norwich.
There is also a mention in "Hic Et Ubique: Reminiscences" of a Dotesio who had a hotel in Slough and then a restaurant in Paris at Rue de Castiglione.

Now, there are some Dotesios on the 1871 census b. France - a Louis E, 19, b. Paris ("English Subject"), and a Sophie M, 15, b. Paris ("British Subject").

My suggestion would be that at some point (soon after the marriage of Charles to Elizabeth), the family went to Paris -  possibly Charles had business there. At least two children were b. to Charles and Elizabeth there. Probably this is where Marina is in 1861 (and perhaps 1871?).

Incidentally some of the family are on freebmd with other spellings - Dotesis, Dotesie, etc.  The 1851 marriage of Charles to Elizabeth Paynter (as opposed to the London marriage to Emma Cutler), is under Dotesie.

John, who were the witnesses at Mirina's marriage? Curious to know if any of the family were there.
