MACDONALD/MACDONELL Burials PEI
« on: Monday 16 November 09 10:52 GMT (UK) »
I thought I would try a different tack with my MacDONALD brick wall.

If Capt. Ronald  and Christian (nee Cameron) MacDonald died at Clear Springs Big Bush, Lot 44 PEI,

WHERE is it likely for then to be buried ?
I have no idea where to look for a burial. Any help appreciated

Regards
Andrea

Andrea,

You don't state when they died.

P.E.I. didn't keep BMD records prior to 1906. I the deaths were after that you might have some success searching the P.E.I. vital statistics site at

http://www.gov.pe.ca/vitalstatistics/

Good luck.

Hi Andrea,

Have you seen this site?   http://www.islandnet.com/~cghl/
Blimey there's so much info - it will keep you busy for hours!!  :o  :D
Never used this before so bear with me....First page, choose PEI on the right, next page scroll down to GenWeb, and click on the PEI link.  Then scroll way down to FHC Holdings, then cemetery transcripts.  Scroll down to Lot 44 and it gives a list of cemeteries in lot 44.  There's 2 RC cemeteries in lot 44.  At least it gives the names of cemeteries to search.

Capt. Ronald  MacDONALD born 1788 Lochaber died ?? where ??

and Christian (nee Cameron) MacDONALD born 1788 Appin Sct and died 11 Jan 1861 at Lot 44, and I won't find her on the census she died 3 days shy of the census date  >:(

The PEIGS site is absolutely brilliant, this is where I found Christian's death notice. I am a frequent visitor to this and Islandnet, both excellent sites for family info

I shall try vital statistics, you never know.  :-*

Thanks for helping, I have no idea where to look , at least I now know that I won't find official records before  1906.
