I think I may have found the marriage of Donald's parents.

There is no marriage in the index for a Flatman marrying a Hipperson - so, I then looked just for marriages in the name of Hipperson and found:

Enid A. A. Hipperson  married Jack E. Flackman in the Mar. quarter of 1924 at Norwich.   This seemed somewhat of a coincidence i.e. Flackman and so I searched for the birth of a Jack E Flackman and no so person exists but there are 2 Jack E. Flatman's.   I can only think when the marriage details were transcribed for the index that a mistake was made and that the surname should actually read FLATMAN.

The 2 Jack Flatman's births are:

Jack Esgate Flatman  b.Dec. quarter 1901 Loddon, Norfolk

Jack Edward Flatman b.Jun. quarter 1901 Mutford, Suffolk.

There is a marriage for a Jack E. Flatman in Mutford in 1924 and would hazard a guess that this was Jack Edward and that your Jack is the one born in Loddon.

Unless other relatives can confirm any of the above details your only sure way of knowing you are on the right track is by getting Donald's birth certificate.

The Enid A. A. Hipperson was Enid Alexandra A. Hipperson, birth reg'd Sept.qtr. 1902 at Forehoe, Norfolk

The births index show a total of 10 Flatman births with mother Hipperson all at Norwich:

Donald J.     Sept. 1924
Irene F.       Jun. 1926
Elsie M.        Dec. 1928
Jack F.          Sept. 1930
Edward W.   Jun. 1932
David B.        Jun. 1934
Marshall G.   Mar. 1936
Peter M.       Dec. 1939
Elizabeth M. Jun. 1942
Joyce E.       Jun. 1944
