Ann McHugh
« on: Wednesday 18 November 09 13:04 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone

I've just discovered that my 3xgt-grandmother was born in County Fermanagh in 1836. I wondered if anyone out there would have any info on her family. I do not know her parentage or any siblings. She came to England (Cumbria) sometime before 1855 because she married a Thomas Boyd in Cumbria in September of that year. Any ideas where I could search censuses or online records for information ?

First complete census for Ireland is 1901. Civil registration of births started 1864. Very few church records (what you need for such an early date) will be available online. Does marriage certificate list her father's name and occupation?

Thanks for replying.
Do you know where I can search the 1901 census ?  I'm waiting for her marriage certificate to arrive, so I expect to have her father's name and occupation then.
