Peter Roberts - 1843 England- MICHIGAN Deaths
« on: Saturday 21 November 09 12:00 GMT (UK) »
Hello Everyone,

Trying to help a friend with this one:-

Peter Roberts born 1843 England emmigrated to USA in 1885

In 1900 he is living at White Cheer Ciy. Keokuk. IOWA.
In 1910 his wife Eleanor is living with her son Peter born 1874 England and a granddaughter Violet - she is a widow & Peter a widower in Bay City. Ward 9 Bay. MICHIGAN..

I am looking for a death of Peter Roberts 1843 in either Iowa or Michigan between 1900 - 1910.

Also the marriage in Iowa of Peter Roberts born 1874 England.  He had a daughter Violet Roberts born 1901 IOWA.

Many Thanks.
Sandra

There is a grave for Peter Roberts, husband of Eleanor, in Washington Twp., Keokuk Co. here:  http://iowawpagraves.org/  He died 7 Nov. 1906.

Brilliant Shelly - that gives me both Peter and Eleanor. Many Thanks.

It may be that the wife of Peter 1874 (the son) could have died when they moved to Bay City Ward 9 Michigan.
I now believe her name to be Mae born in 1879 Keokuk. Iowa.  Peter and Mae married in 1898 Keokuk. Iowa.

So any help to verify the marriage & death of Mae would be appreciated.

Peter did remarry 1914 in Michigan and stayed in Bay City with his new family for the 1920 & 1930 Census.

So I am looking for the death of Peter 1874 & his new wife Mary born 1879 Iowa - probably Michigan.  Although I believe their son died in Montgomery. Ohio. 1991 - so that could be a possibility.

Thank You.
Sandra

1937 & 1938 Polk's Bay City, Bay County, Mich. Directories
Roberts, Peter, miner, home 918 N. Wenona av
(not having checked, I'm not sure if any of his children are living, but there appears to be a son whose name starts with Q at the same address in 1937 and one with a name that starts with R at that address in the 1938)

1940 Polk's Bay City, Bay County, Mich. Directory
Roberts, Peter (Rachel V) miner, home 514 1/2 E Midland  apt. 3

1942 Polk's Bay City, Bay County, Mich. Directory
Roberts, Peter (Rachel) laborer, home 504 N. De Witt

No sign of any of them in the 1944 directory.

Thank you Shelly.   ;D

The son would be Quinton/Quenton born in 1919 - he is the one that died in Montgomery in 1991.

The 2 other children were step-children from Mary's first marriage - Joseph and Les.   By 1930 Joseph was going under Kelly.

It sounds now as if they did move on after 1944.

Your a star - thank you for all your help.

Continuing with the same family - ROBERTS.

I am looking for death records which I believe should all be in Michigan - in and around Bay City.

Frances Mary Roberts/MARSH born 1872 England married Thomas Marsh in 1894 Iowa but they lived in Bay City. Bay. Michigan on the 1910/20/20 US Census.

Frear Roberts 1882 England and his wife Emma born 1900 Michigan. This was a second marriage for Frear and could have been just prior to the birth of their first child Catherine in 1920 in Bay City. Michigan.  I am missing him on the 1920 census.

Any help appreciated.
Sandra.

I have a Social Security Death record for Emma Roberts 28 April 1899 - Nov 1978  Essexville. Bay. Michigan which is a possibility.
Thanks to Angela I now have the two marriages for Frear.

I found that site really helpful for my Michigan people - such a pity the deaths stop at 1897
