Butcher shop in Moffat
« on: Monday 23 November 09 22:59 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Does anybody have any knowledge or would be able to point me in the right direction about the Edgar family who ran it?

James Edgar and Elizabeth Graham with children James Edgar, Archibald Graham Edgar and Isabella Jackson Edgar.

Thanks,

Wul

edit: From the early 1900 era, found James Edgar and Isabella Jackson Edgar in San Francisco in 1930!

Hi
Pre-1902 data that you may have .... it looks more likely that it is one of James and Lizzie's family who  had the Butcher's business.
I will look for Archie and Isabella's emigration ... this may give previous occupations.

Hi DDJJake

Many thanks for you hard work, you are correct about having much of the information and it can only have been Archibald Edgar as both his siblings Isabella and James appear in the 1930 San Francisco census in 559 Sanchez St, San Francisco, California. My late father and grandmother spoke of this butcher but when you are young you do not listen!
