Hi Bladesgirl,
Jane  Morland married James Johnstone, my 3 x Great Grandmother Jane Cain/Kean's/Kelly's son.
Her other son Thomas Kelly married Annie McCubbin, they are my 2x Great Grandparents and lived at Drumbreddan.

HI There,
The name Morland is of much interest to myself. I enclose a couple of postings from a Doris Ward. Sadly my Timing is a wee bit out and I can no longer speak to Doris. I know she has information surrounding the name Morland which is linked to myself through her husband JamesWard.
I will expand a bit from what I know but there are blanks and maybe someone can assist me or indeed came across postings from Doris and had communication with her. I am trying to track down some of her own family in Canada at present possibly to assist,,, but I do respect that this is not everyones cup of tea and being bombarded with emails can be annoying to some people.. I respect that..

married John WRIGHT born Ireland C1835. Their daughter Jane WRIGHT was born
1860 in Inch. Other known children were born in Stranraer - Margaret Morland
WRIGHT
b. 1862; a second Margaret Morland WRIGHT b. 1864; Alexander Wright b. 1872.

Jane's brother William MORLAND, was my husband's great grandfather. Have
some information to share about Jane's Morland parents and grandparents.

On 6 Oct 1871 David MORLAND b. 29 Jan. 1850 in Kirkcolm married Elizabeth
KINNON in Stranraer. Only known child, Jane, was born in Stranraer 01 Nov. 1871.
David was the brother of my husband's grandfather James MORLAND. I have MORLAND information to share.

A child Jessie Morland was b1885.    D1886, Bronchitis. Naburn Street, Hutchesontown, Glasgow. Parents David and Elizabeth Morland nee Kinnon
David my g grandfather b1850 .
His parents were William Morland and Jane McCulloch. m1849

The area of Wigtonshire (Stranraer) has quite a few Morlands and my search continues regards a tie-up with each family.
I would be very gratefull if help could be given regards William whose birthdate is abt 1827.  Info Marriage cert. and Census 1861.
My search for many years though has found no record of birth. I believe this William is the missing link that could join many of the Morland families together.

Thankyou for any help from all whose love of family history I know can be very time consuming.

Any help I can give from 1849 to present day regards Morland can be quite substantial. Info I have gathered over many years is open to all commenting on these threads.
Info pre 1849 only 95% reliable. Example as above with William b1827 abt.
