Susanna PERRY was the daughter of William Elkanah PERRY and Susannah LORD. She was baptised in Uley aged 18 so perhaps they were non-conformists.

William SAGE 1824 followed his father in the family grocery business. He was a corn and bacon factor and apparently also a ship owner.

There are several other people researching this branch of the SAGE family.

Hi Everyone,
When exactly did William Sage marry Anastasia Long (ie day and month). And was William married before Anastasia in Bristol, were did he train to be a Cabinet Maker in the city?

Hello William married Anastasia on the 10 July 1865 according to Sage family records that I have been given. His previous marriage was to Mary Haberlin on the 7th July (I don't have a year for this).

William had family in the wood trade including his Uncle Samuel and definitely his cousin Henry Sage so perhaps he was more interested in wood work than in his father's grocery business. He went bankrupt in 1826 and probably emigrated at about that time. However, he kept up correspondance with his sister Rebecca and Irish Sage families knew of their Bristol relatives.
What is your interest in this family?
Karen

Hi,
One more point are you saying William Sage Snr left Bristol in 1825 for Waterford. If so,  where did William Sage Jnr learn his trade as a Cabinet Maker in Bristol or Waterford and where did he marry Mary Haberlin. As to why I'm interested in William Sage it because I'm writing and Irish Furniture Trade directory from 1650-1901.
PS I discovered a James Sage (Cabinet Maker) getting married in Waterford in 1855 (how is he related to William).

Hello again,

William Sage 1801 probably left Bristol after 1831 when he last baptised a child in Bristol.  Most likely he arrived in Waterford 1831-1835 when the next children were likely born in Ireland.

The James Sage you mention is likely his son- he certainly had children from 1855 onwards.

If you send me your email, I can put you in touch with some descendants of this line
