Help with 1841 census please?
« on: Thursday 26 November 09 13:25 GMT (UK) »
Hi All

I've been looking at the 1841 census for an ancestor in the Hamlet of Deritend, Parish or township of Aston and can't read the occupation of said ancestor.  I wonder if anyone can read it and tell me what it is please?

It is page 13 last two entrants at the bottom of the page, John Wordwworth and his wife Harriet.

Thanks

If so occupation looks (to me) like Master Mariner

Thanks suzard

That would fit with what his daughter put on her marriage certificate.  She gave his occupation as Captain in the Navy.

As I'm fairly new to the 1841 census and less info does it say in last but one column - whether born in same county or country?  Gotta get my eyes re tested lol!

Sorry about mistake in page and folio.

Thanks again
