What was his father's occupation on the marriage certificate?  And does it give an exact address for young Albert?

Hi

I think his father was in farming - I dont have the cert with me at the moment.  The address at the time of young Alberts marriage was in Bright Street, Reading, but there are no Albert Smiths there in 1911 of the right age that i can see.... it looks like he might have been lodging and moved around a bit.  How inconsiderate!

Hi Sam

I can just see you on the day at 8.30am  ;D

I am sure I am asking all the questions that you have probably gone through in your head....but of the two Alberts who did show in the Reading area in 1911, have you traced them back through birth places to establish their fathers' names?

Hi Monica

That's weird, I was just starting to look at that when your message came thru.  there were 4 Alberts of the right age in 1911 and 1 is definately the wrong father's name.  I guess thats my next move with the other 3 - starting with the farming one I think as I have a hunch it will turn out to be him.  Could be tricky tho as he's lodging with another family in farm cottages and birth place in 'unknown'......so am not sure if this will lead to a dead end aswell, but will have a go.

One of the 1911 one's is with a widowed mother. As the father is deceased by 1912 I wonder if this one could be him!!
