Sarah DALRYMPLE, nee THOMSON- what has happened to her?

I've been looking for Sarah ever since this journey began. She is reported to have been born 1830 Carrickfergus, Ireland, married George Samuel Weymss-Dalrymple (GWD)28/01/1850, Duddingston, Midlothian, Scotland. They can be seen on shipping passenger lists between NSW and NZ with their 3 children, Agnes, Sophia, Weymss-Dalrymple, Emily Eliza and John George around 1870-1871 but then she disappeared. GSWD and the children settled in NZ except Emily Eliza seems to have returned to NSW and got married to a Mr Nicholls. Any ideas on what happened to Sarah? I'd be very relieved to know. GSWD remained on his own ie didn't remarry until his death in Masterton, NZ 1907.

Do you have Sarah's parents' given names please?  May help identify her in the death indexes.   Have you searched the NSW marriage index just using NICHOLLS as groom and Sarah as bride's given name?

Emily Eliza seems to have returned to NSW and got married to a Mr Nicholls.

Oooh  ... isn't it Emily Eliza who wed a Mr. NICHOLLS.

Canda and Lucy2, I don't have her parents names but another friend found something to do with her Mother. I'll look that out. Yes, she did marry a Mr nicholls and he or their son Frank was a dentist in NSW. Thanks for your interest. I welcome all help as I'm really not very good at this.

Emily's marriage actually took place in New Zealand.

Oh gosh, Lucy2, I never knew that. Thanks for this great bit of info. I'll tell my Mum her great niece. 1878 though is a long way back. My Mum wasn't born until 1920. I really thought Emily Eliza left NZ and married etc in Australia.
