Thankyou Dave, very interesting to me too, as I have been trying to trace a Col Burton who was sent to Guernsey at the same time as a Col Monson was sent to Jersey circa 1796! - so "could be" connected.

Les, no luck with that book, but I have read it somewhere - I will keep looking.
An interesting duel I found was in a darkened room. One  man fired, missed and hid up the chimney. The other found him and stuck his pistole up....... ;D
