Hi

It is nice to see this posting.  We are in the process of tracking down our currie Ancestors.

Yesterday we got my wife 2nd great grandmothers death record which confirmed her parents.

She was Jane Currie with the parents of William Currie and Jane McKeown.  The arrive in christchurch, New Zealand in 1862 on the Queen of the Mersey.

Today I was in the library in the history part trying to get more information.   This is were I came accross a William and Mary Currie burried in the addington cemetery, christchurch.

Christchurch cemeteries are on line at http://librarydata.christchurch.org.nz/Cemeteries/ where you can get the other details.

We are still trying to find the deatils of her 3rd great as they came to NZ as well on the came ship.

All the best
John

Hi. Is anyone still following this thread.
I’ve been recently researching the Currie’s on Bute (as my wife is one) and found this thread.
I have info on John Currie, Tacksman of Ardbeg and his wife Margaret Black, his son John Currie and wife Janet Campbell, and his son John Currie and 1st wife Margaret Sproul.
My wife’s line is the third John’s son, Robert W Currie b1853.
Please do get in touch if you would like to share further info.
Thanks
