Hinde Family - Whitehaven

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone out there has information on the Hind-Hinde-Hinds family of Whitehaven.

In particular Francis Hinde born about 1840 in Ireland where he married Mary Ann , his wife.

My husband descended from their daughter Theresa born 22 October 1876 possibly in Wexford Ireland but we are not sure.

Other children included Francis  born 1880/81, William John born 1862/63, James born 1870, Esther born 1872 .

Theresa and Francis went to live in Barrow in Furness.

Any information about this family and where they otiginated from in Ireland would be very welcome.

I don't know if there could be a link? I'm seraching for hinds in Maryport/Whitehaven.

Doyou have any seaman in your family, Captains in particular?

I have a great great grandmother called Frances Hinds. ALthough in one of the census the surnames was spelt hindes. 

She was born in maryport 1856 ish and married a Joseph Mitchinson.  She had a sister called Ann born 1842 who had 2 children born in Ireland. Caroline and Frederick.

Do these ring any bells with your findings?

There is a birth registration for Theresa Hinds, Dec Q 1876, Whitehaven 10b 606.  This fits with the 1881 census, which gives her place of birth as Whitehaven.
