Hi Forfarian

Elizabeth McDonald  nee McNaughtan was born 25th Sept 1784 in Comrie Daughter of Alexander McNaughtan of Killin and Elizabeth McAinsh. She died 1st Jan 1864 in Muthill village. I have checked Perth archives at the AK Bell and found nothing.

On the 1841 census Ronald's occupation is listed as Army Pensioner on Elizabeth's death cert he is listed as Old Soldier.

Ronald McDonald according to JohnD died 22nd Jun 1845 in Comrie.

On the 1851 census for Comrie Elizabeth was an in dweller at the inn in Comrie at that time it was owned by her cousin. When she died in I believe she was living with her son and his family in Muthil.

Which implies that the Poor Law records for Comrie have not survived?
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Discharged 1812 after just over 4 years service.
Extremely new to this so any help advice appreciated.

Hi

I have the following children for Ronald

Alexander born 29th Mar 1801 at the Mailermore
Margaret  born  22nd May 1803 at the Ross
Archibald  born  24th Nov  1805
James      born   1813
Helen       born   1826
John         born   1828

The gap between Archibald and James could account for his military service
