Looking for Melinda apparently born England but known to have travelled to New York in 1890s with her father Girdo I have searched Ancestryand there is one with a similar name on passanger list which I have no access to Any help appreciated

  Sorry its Gyorgyne Paczi on New York Passenger List 1820 -1957 I know they lived in NewYork

She is a Housewife, born 1877 in Hungary. Arriving in New York on 4th August 1913 - and from what I can read she is going to join her husband. Her nearest relative at her last permanent Residence was her Mother and it looks like Grandmother - in Vasas? sorry that is a big guess.  Born in Kolozovar?

That is the gist of it- if you think it might be relevant I will try harder to decipher all the details.

When you say that Melinda and Girdo were "known to have travelled to New York" and that they "lived in New York"- do you have them in any US census or other document?  If so, what details are given?

I have found her I think  I believe her name was Melinda Giacopiosa Her fathers name was not Girdo Paczi but that was  whole of his surname she is one the 1881 cencus as a servant born in Saffron Hill Middlesex 1855
