JAMAICA:- Elizabeth Fullerton - COMPLETED Thankyou
« on: Tuesday 01 December 09 11:53 GMT (UK) »
I am afraid I only have this name to go on as yet, other than she definitely came from Jamaica and I  'think' she married a Mr. Crawford Mollison whose Father was a Minister in Biggar, Scotland,  somewhere in the region of the late 1700/early 1800.  Any help would be appreciated. :(

The Gentleman's magazine (Google Books)
Has the obituary in Sep 1858 as Elizabeth, aged 76,  relict of Crawford Mollison, esq, of Grove-terrace, St. John's Wood.
Crawford Mollison died at the same address in 1851, aged 76.

Just an update on Elizabeth Fullerton, she married Crawford Mollison in 1802 in London is there any way of finding out about her life in Jamaica prior to this?  Thanks to jorose and her information at least there is now an approximation of her birth-date of 1782. and from her photo, she was a very striking Lady. Would Jamaicans come to England as Lady's Maid or come in there own right?  Any help would be appreciated ;)

Hi everyone. I'm a BBC journalist and I'm working on an article which will prominently feature Elizabeth Fullerton. I know this thread is long dead, but I'm very interested in seeing the photo of Elizabeth mentioned by AnnaMayWong. I may also be able to provide some additional information about her. Can anyone help?

Chris

Hi Markheal, thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I've actually been using that family tree in my research. It suggests that Elizabeth Fullerton may have been multiracial and that's partly why I'm so keen to see the photograph AnnaMayWong mentions (it's a key part of the story I'm trying to tell).

Chris,
Did you know that your can send a Personal Message on this site directly to annamaywong.
I see from her records that she was last posting here in 2019.
Let us know if you need further help with your interesting research and how you get on.
I do know that Jamaican research can be hard work!
Have you started your own research for her and her family on a Public Tree yourself?

Mark

I didn't realise that was an option - thank you!

I'm eager to speak to her and I think I can even answer some of the questions she had about Elizabeth Fullerton. She was an interesting woman. I've done some original research but a lot of my work is based on Edith Winter's family tree on Ancestry. She's an extremely thorough genealogist.
