Mary Ann Blyton nee Hanley(Hanly) was born in Ballyfatton Strabane according to 1861 census. In most others her birthplace is merely referred to as Ireland, Co tyrone or Strabane. She was born abt 1839. Her father Michael Hanley (Hanly) was born in Sligo Ireland abt 1796 died 1862 London and her mother Martha born 1813 Ireland died 1857 London.
I have no knowledge of Martha's maiden name because clearly they married in Ireland. Family lore suggests it was Hamilton and that is born out slightly by the naming of her eldest grandchild Bertha Hamilton Blyton. Has anyone any suggestions as to where I should look to follow this connection further back. any help would be much appreciated as this is the first time I have had to brave Irish records. thanks
