Has anyone claimed connection to TORQUIL Mcleod aged 83 who died in Royal Park in 1939 #1103 parents John Mcleod and Nellie McLennan? est dob 1856.

Is he the same one who was born 1857 in Warrnambool to John and Margaret?

I believe that he is. He is the son of John McLeod and Margaret nee McLeod. He married Margaret McLeod in 1893. Margaret is the daughter of Lachlan McLeod and Annie nee McLeod.

Lots of McLeods - no wonder they are so hard to track. :D

Hi McBilby,

John Bain's parents were John MacLeod and Flora MacLeod - not much help really as there are lots of them.

They were from Lower Hallaig on the Isle of Raasay. I have found them on the 1841 and 1851. In 1841 they are listed as being from Lech, Raasay and in 1851 from Hallaig.

Where they fit in to the Clan MacLeod - I would like to know that also. If you can see your way to posting a couple more comments I can then contact you directly and give you my email.

Hi Sue

Thank you for your reply, sorry but I did not get a message to  say I had a reply hence the late response.   I have checked the TAsmanian TORQUIL, unfortunately these are  not my ancestors.
Again thank you for your time.

Cheers

Hi, I know this post is old but hoping someone might be able to help me?
I’m chasing Torquil McLeod and John Alexander McLeod.
I can’t find anything on John Alexander, the last information I have is he visited his Dad at Royal Park 29th December 1938.
I believe my father is the son of John Alexander McLeod (DNA results)
