PEDRICK in Devon
« on: Saturday 05 December 09 20:52 GMT (UK) »
Hi Lister's,

I've been researching my Pedrick ancestors for several years.  I've mainly been interested in the later events post 1840 and in London.  The family were originally wheelwrights then later generations turned to chimney sweeping.  The areas in London where they lived were, Kings Cross, Bethnal Green, Bow, Old Ford then ending up in West Ham
The head of the family was a Richard Pedrick from Devon who married Hannah Pardrew.  The children were Arthur, James, Andrew, John, William and Richard.  I do not have much information about Richard and Hannah other than a possible marriage in 1805 which seems suspect! Son Richard seems to have strayed and was transported to Australia in 1840 for ten years.

I would be interest to know if anyone else is researching this extended family.

Regards

Hi listers,

I've had some help from 'Rootsweb' Devon list.

New tree attached.   The youngest Richard was possibly transcribed wrongly, should be Richard, Pardrew Pedrick.

Thanks for looking.

regards

John

Hi All,
I've found a couple of marriages that might fit in the tree.  These were from East Stonehouse and about the same period.  Perhaps someone is researching either Steward or Leather in Plymouth.  These could be siblings of Richard Pedrick.  I think the 'unknown Pedrick' might be a Richard as well.

Regards

John.

Hi John. You may have this information - some of it is the same or similar to yours - Richard Pederick born 1800 London who married a Hannah Pardrew 22 Dec 1820 at Eaststone House. Devon,  Three children given. James 5 April 1822 London. Arthur 5 June 1825 London & Andrew Pederick 19 Jan 1828 London.
Andrew married Eleanor Ellen Frances Dampenney June 1854 in Bethnall Green. London. They had at least 9 children.  ;D ;D

Hi Dettori,

Thanks for the contact.  We have three Pedrick researchers in the UK and one in Australia.  Together we have found lots of information post 1840, but not a lot of the earlier details. About a month ago we started again after a three or four year break.  A new look that seems to have been rewarding so far.

Thanks again for your input.

I've just found this thread and my 3XGreat Grandparents are Thomas Leather and Elizabeth Pedrick. :) :)

I have only just found Elizabeth's maiden name and marriage details, and would be grateful if you have any more information.

Hi Wendy,

Thanks for the contact.
Seems ages since I posted that item. Not done a lot more since!
I think that I was just guessing and trying to put together a tree from
what marriages I could find in and around East Stonehouse.

I've just e-mailed the other three Pedrick Researchers and I will have a look at how far we
got with that branch.  I know that Alison in Australia has researched the Pedrick who was transported there.

We have a vast amount of Pedrick data which we share.
