Nothing to do with any army records, but i did find him (or may be his printing company ) at 12A Church street, Beswick on the 1929 directory. Will forward you a copy of it.
I take it you do know that Joseph & his wife Catherine are both buried in Gorton cemetery?

I checked the Machester battalions book and there are 8  J. Wilkinson's listed but no J.B.Wilkinson's listed.

Sarah Wilkinson married Arthur Pixton Sept 1/4 1898 ST. Silas, Ardwick
Arthur died age 46, 1916 & Sarah died age 88, 1958.
Benjamin & Amelia Wilkinson & Arthur & Sarah Pixton nee Wilkinson all lived at 9 ST. Silas Street Ardwick around 1910/11/12/13 Birtha died at 35 Napier street Ardwick.
By 1918 there doesn't seem to be any of those family at the 9 ST.Silas street. Ardwick.
The Beckett family are at that address 1918.

Eric, do you know if Joseph Burton Wilkinson's brother John joined the army and if yes what regiment? Brothers liked to stick together and maybe they did?

Hello Migky
Thank you for your continued interest in my topic . Unfortunately,I do not know whether John joined the services in WW1 . I like the way you are thinking as I do have several photos of J.B. and who I think is John over several years .
I know that they must have been close as I have orbituary reports of Catherines funeral in 1956 and J.B.'s in 1963 and John's two daughters are mourners .
If only I had an unusual surname , would'nt life be so much easier  ;D
 Kind regards
Eric
