Hi Pat,
Good to heare from you again.  I follow your entries with interest.  Sorry but the one piece of information which has eluded me is Ann Paxton's family and background.
Must confess it's on the back burner as I've been following other lines when I get time. I'll contact "Paxman" about the Atkinson line.
Regards,
Rob

Hello Naxman, and a warm welcome to Rootschat!   ;D  I am wondering if you have any additional information on your Ann PAXTON, as I feel certain we have a connection through her.  Pat

Hi Pat

Sorry I have no further info on Ann Paxton, I only found her myself yesterday!!!!!  Is that the relationship where our families link?

Hi naxman, well, that's a good question....my Paxtons were around the area....operated Velvet Hall in Norham for a number of years in the early 1800's....but, in addition to living at Norham and Longridge, they also were baptised (those I could find!) at Golden Square Presbyterian Church in Tweedmouth in addition to the "regular C of E" there.  It would appear they link to the Paxtons across the border in and around the town of Paxton and Lady Kirk.... I'm open to all suggestions and information!  And, BTW, you will find that Rootschatters are a wonderful group of people!   ;D  Pat

Well Pat, along with another ancestor they provide me with a genuine Scottish link.  Between yourself and Rob you have confirmed my real hope that I am definitely a "Northumbrian".  The vast majority of my other ancestors arise there (and have stayed there - a few of you escaped to the colonies ha ha ha), but you know you have roots in the most amazingly beautiful and unspoilt countryside (if you ignore the mining history!).  Norham and the surrounding areas are a real delight and an area for which I have always felt a special affinity - now I know why.
