I have received the death certificate for Alexander Johnston. Some parts are difficult to read and I am hoping someone can help.
Date and place of death  11th April 1932 Co Donegal  it then looks like Co House?  Home?

Name Alexander Johnston  next bit reads from Maille? Morlle?  Marlle?  I have checked out a long list of place names beginning with M in Donegal and could find no similar names

He was 19 years and a labourer.  Cause of death Epilepsy major  3 days ago  Cardiac failure certified

Signature/Residence of informant   Daniel  I cannot make out the surname looks like Mc --yuire??  folowed by Occupier Co Donegal  again Co Home ? House?
Registered on 20 April 1932 I would be really plesed to get any help with this.  Mirrin

Co House?  Home?- Co[unty] Home?
Name Alexander Johnston  next bit reads from Maille? Morlle?  Marlle? Male
Signature/Residence of informant   Daniel  I cannot make out the surname looks like Mc --yuire??  folowed by Occupier Co Donegal  again Co Home ? House? McGuire?- if he died in workhouse/hospital/county home the informant was likely a member of staff rather than a relative which looks like what's happened on this death certificate.

Thanks for the reply.  Male is entered in another column so (from Maille?) suggests it might be a place name, though anything is possible.  I had also wondered if Alexander could have lived in a home or hospital?  Have you any hints about how I might proceed.  Knowing the area helps a lot. I  have no knowledge of Donegal.

Any clues welcome.

Death took place in County Home - now called St Joseph's Hospital, Stranorlar. Could you scan and post townland name as someone might recognise.

Thank you again for the help.  Alexander came from Rutherglen, Scotland.  Perhaps when he moved to Donegal he lived and worked in ( Maille????? )  Really pleased to get the information re the Home I will try and scan and perhaps as you say someone might be able to help with the place name.

Best wishes
Mirrin

Please find a copy of the death certificate of Alexander Johnston attached. I would be grateful for any help in decyphering the signature of the person who registered the death  ( he is not a relative)  and the part that reads Alexander  Johnston from Maille??

Many thanks Mirrin

You aren't allowed to post the whole certificate- and it isn't attached- but a small portion can be for deciphering purposes.
