THOMSON and JENNER marriage Brighton
« on: Monday 14 December 09 09:23 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to confirm the parentage of William Thomson who married Jane Jenner in Brighton on 18 October 1826. The SFHG CD only gives their names, the date, marital status and parish of residence of the bride. If anyone has access to the full record, I would like to know the name of John's father, in order to confirm a possible link with my own family tree.

Many thanks for any help offered,

At that time it was not usual to put the names of fathers unless they happened to be a witness and even then you have to guess if it is father or another relative.  The conventional certificate came in for parish use at the same time as civil registration started in 1837.  The original record may hold clues though so will be worth looking at.
