Oh well looks like another one bites the dust.
Going back to what we know.
Charles Young I guess was his correct name, or at least he had used that name from being young. I think the RWF would have checked their records to find his previous service and because of that his date of birth would have tied up with what he said when he first joined.
He could have given an incorrect year when he first joined IF he wanted to join up but wasn't old enough so it is worth looking in the same quarter in the next 2 years to see if there are any births and he would have had to remember what he had said first time round.
I am drawn towards that Tranmere marriage in 1902 if we can find out if the RWF were back from South Africa then. Often soldiers did marry on their return from overseas service.
We haven't yet found a Charles and Mary Elizabeth to fit in 1911, so did that marriage break up and Charles work away from home where he met Emily?
Ellen and Joanna I feel were not Charles's children, but who was their father and what name were they registered in?
Going on Emily being happy to lie on Sidney and Dorothy's birth certificates she could have easily done the same on the girls birth certificates.
We have a date of birth from Joanna's death certificate ( OK not always correct) but what do we know about Ellen, what happened to her, did she move to Salford or stay in Liverpool, can we work out who she married and what happened to her?
Now on to Emily, we have no proof of anything she said, because we know she was happy to lie on certificates can we trust what she said on her marriage certificate?
What happened to Emily after she split with Charles? We have no idea.
So overall despite all the work we have done we haven't had a breakthrough yet.
Ellen lived in Sale in the 1960s. She had 3 sons. Frank, Robert and Brian. x x
