Complete 1861 census look up - James Richardson

A request for 1861 census for James Richardson & family
James Richardson babt1801 Dumfries was a Master Shoemaker his wife Elizabeth babt1804,they had 5 children
David b1830
Thomas abt1832
William abt1834
James abt1836
John abt1839.

James R aged 51 last found on 1851 Midtown of Nutholm,Dumfries.
I have Elizabeths death record 1873 as widow now trying to find out if James was alive in 1861.

Hi Fiona,

Had a look on ancestry and found the following:-

Address: Pathhead, St Mungo, Dumfriesshire

Elizabeth Richardson  Head  shoemakers widow   born St Mungo, Dumfriesshire  aged 62 years
James Richardson  son  master tailor  born St Mungo, Dumfriesshire  aged 25 years

I also looked up the MI's for St Mungo and got the following:-
"In memory of James Richardson who died at Nutholm, 16th September 1851 aged 51 years. Also John Alexander his son who died 9th February 1838 aged 9 weeks. Also Elizabeth Linton his wife, who died at Pathead on the 8th November 1873 aged 75 years. (Post 1855 inscriptions)"

There is a possibility that there are other family members mentioned on the headstone as the transcriptions only cover up to 1855.

All info you have given fits like a glove,thank you so much you have been a BIG help. The MI is a huge bonus with info on James R's death also their son John and census info with son James occ as Master Tailor.

Did your William Richardson marry a Jardine, of St Mungo?

Hi Jamjar

At present I do not have William Richardson married to a Jardine but
I do have a David Richardson, 2nd marriage, to Helen Johnston Jardine 1929 Applegarth,any connection?
I have 9 William Richardsons mainly from Applegarth but only have 2 with wives.

I researched the Richardsons last year maybe even the year before inputting all info in my FTM which went corrupt and lost most info.

At present I just can't locate my information on William and his wife Jane/Janet. All I have found is the 1851 census with them in Heck with their son John. William was a Mason. They moved up North.

I also have Janet Linton of St Mungo, marrying Thomas Jardine a master shoemaker.
