« on: Saturday 19 December 09 20:23 GMT (UK) »
hi,
i am trying to find the marriage of william endersby and sarah ann bradshaw.
william was born in 1824 and his father was james endersby he was born in gamlingay.sarah ann was born in manea.her parents were thomas and sarah.
i have found a william insby with a father called james and a sarah ann bradshaw who married in norfolk,i have checked the william insby but he doesnt seem to a history that matches the marriage.
i would be very grateful for any help or clues as to where i might find them.
many thanks.

Hi Neville
Welcome to Roots
You sure you got the right William Endersby, as on the 1871 the one born Gamlingay 1824/26 is unmarried

hi ricky,
yes thats my problem, but only one married sarah ann bradshaw,i looked on the cambridge f.h.s website and found that the william endersby who was nearest to my search had a father called james and a mother called dorcas biggs.
i think that the marriage of william insby and sarah ann bradshaw is the best bet but i am not sure,i also cant find them on the 1861 census.as they had josiah by then it seems to be a mystery.

Joshia states born Gamlingay age 16, but his sister Sarah says she is born Manea? aged 11

hi ricky,
thanks very much for that,i did see the family in the workhouse but i think that although it seems to match i am not entirley convinced they are the ones.
the reason i think think this is because i cant find james & dorcas on the 61 census,it seems that they must have been somewhere but i cant think where, also would they let a young family live in the workhouse.
thanks,
neville
