Hi,
The couple who married in Gamlingay didn't have any children baptised there but Josiah Ensdeby age 2 and his brother Jonathon were baptised 8 Feb 1857 in Manea. Sons of William and Sarah Ann

Tempsford.

hi all,
many thanks for all your help,i would have answered earlier but i had to go to sunny suffolk to see grandchildren.
i am almost certain that the william endersby b1824 to james and docas is the right one.
on josiahs b.c william was married to sarah ann bradshaw,i think i will look up the witnesses to see if they fit into the family anywhere.
if anyone has any more ideas i would be very grateful.

Your best bet would be to purchase the marriage cert, if you already haven't done so. This will show the fathers names and occupations.

hi ricky,
thanks very much for that,i did see the family in the workhouse but i think that although it seems to match i am not entirley convinced they are the ones.
the reason i think think this is because i cant find james & dorcas on the 61 census,it seems that they must have been somewhere but i cant think where, also would they let a young family live in the workhouse.
thanks,
neville

Hi Neville

I still think it is them on the 1861 in the Union workhouse, the intials and dates of birth match for William and Sarah, plus the one for Josiah and his sister Sarah, place of birth for the mother and kids might be out, but that happened in them days
