The person who has been vast amounts of knowledge about the Coans is a lady called Eileen Perrin (nee Coan). She has been researching the Coans for over 30 years and saw your posts but wasn't sure how to respond.

Hi All,
My sincerest apologies for my lack of correspondence, regretably I have been very ill, combination of age and aftermath of a massive heart-failure which has left me with systolic hypertension plus a leaky valve - as a result - my list of 'Mustn't do -  or Don't do' has increased considerably. However provided I keep to the rules as directed by the medics I should survive ok.
I have a lot of catching up to do on all my other researching as well as the Coan's.

Just wondering if anyone knows if any Jewish heritage in Coan line. (I'm further down line from John Henry Coan. I noted post where Robert Israel Coan registered father's death is John Tyrell Cohen

I dont see any Jewish connection for the Coan family at all by where they married.bapt etc.

Looking at this again I think John (under COWEN) married Mary HOPSON 11 September 1821
