Some details from Slater's Directory of 1881

Wexford town - Presbyterian Chapel, Ann st, Rev James Burns, minister
 Residence : Park [?]

Suspect this is a mis-print and should read William Burns (not James)- as Sahne says the directories were compiled earlier than the published date.
The next minister in Wexford Presbyterian Church, Samuel McClune (from America) was installed 25 Oct.1881.

my mistake.. I transcribed the wrong entry..  the 1881 edition definitely has William Burns. I found that James Burns listing in the 1870 edition of Slater's...

difficult to tell if that 1870 James listing is genuine or not ... the newspaper article states that William was minister of Wexford for '12 years or more', yet we know from the earlier directory details that he was already in Wexford in 1853 i.e. 28 years

The date of William Burns' ordination in Wexford (1850) is from church records not a directory so perhaps 1870 directory for 'James' actually should read William.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
