Chester Castle Barracks

Hi guys,

I have a relative who in 1851 census was listed as a private in Chester Castle Barracks.

Does anyone know much about the Chester Castle Barracks for this time? And any information on where my relative would have served or done?

The depot of 38th Foot was stationed at Chester at that time ( the main part of the regiment was stationed in Halifax Nova Scotia). I don't see any other regiments there in March/April/May 1851.
