In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

Doby,
as the one in bold is by licence, maybe you can turn up the original licence bond.

Can't rule out the 1763 SUNDARLAND Mary Sowerby though!

THAT BOND BY LICENCE IS A BONUS- PITTY IT WASN'T THE 1787 CARTER/SIMPSON MARRIAGE BY LICENCE

Will have to wait till white stuff goes- if ever?. Not seen anything like this! since 1957 when we lost my dad in 6ft drifts as he was only 5ft 4 inch tall clearing snow  but hes was not lost!  :D We just could not see him.  ;D

By 14 Jan 1824 James Carter is living in North bridge Northowram (Lower Halifax Town) as a Tailor
From records held at Halifax Archive/ Library
and there will be deeds of properties owned at Wakefied register of deeds

There could or most likely will have 'Wills' involved as well

I'll send by PM details after seeing the original documents next week or before as to weather

Binn's and Gledhill's are are in Documents with Carter's in Skircoat, Ripponden  & Halifax Town around 1775
The 1765 census may hold clues
