Hi Barbara

Have you had any luck with William born abt 1807 Gt Budworth Cheshire. I dont think it is that far away from Warrington, i think that William b 1807 must have gone to live in Warrington when he married Elizabeth born abt 1810. Where could i find marriages that early. His daughter Elizabeth was born in 1830.

The 1851 census has the following which ties in with the 1861 census shown above:

William TAYLOR, Head, Mar, 44, Joiner born Cheshire Great Budworth
Elizabeth TAYLOR, Wife, Mar, 41 born Lancashire Warrington
William TAYLOR, Son, 15, Glass worker born Lancashire Warrington
Eliza TAYLOR, Dau, 12, born Lancashire Warrington
James TAYLOR, Son, 9 born Lancashire Warrington
Jane TAYLOR, Dau, 7 Born Lancashire Warrington
Hannah TAYLOR, Dau, 4 born Lancashire Warrington
Joseph TAYLOR, Son, 1m born Lancashire Manchester
James WALKER, son in law, Mar 21, Fustian Cutter born Lancashire Warrington
Elizabeth WALKER, Dau, Mar, 20, Fustian Cutter born Lancashire Warrington
Sarah Anne WALKER, Gdau, 1m born Lancashire Manchester
Margaret TAYLOR, Grandmother, Wid, 62?, born Scotland

66 Jersey Street, Ancoats, Manchester, HO107 2225/548 Page 6

With a name like TAYLOR it would be best to start with what you know and have evidence for and then purchase the certificates to prove as you go back.

Hope this helps,

Jean

Hi Barbara
I never connected The family she was boarding with could have been her father and his family, but that would suggest that her family came to Kingswinford too, which i hadnt loooked at, if her maiden name was Jones. I now wonder if any of Williams family may have come as well.

Hi Wendy,

I think I already said in my earlier replies how to go about this.  Pick a few likely ones and ask the register office or the GRO to check for the details you already know.  No other way round this with a name like Taylor, you need to ask them to check father's name and occupation and mother's first name.
I did give you a posible birth for Sarah Ann, which might be the easier one to trace
