Burial lookup - Maidenhead
« on: Monday 14 March 05 16:22 GMT (UK) »
Hi
I am very new to this so please forgive me if I have asked the wrong questions. Is it possible to have a look up of a burial site/index? I know that my great grandfather died in Maidenhead the first week of January 1917 as someone sent me a copy of the death notice from the paper. However I have no idea where he was buried. My cousin went to Maidenhead a few years ago but could not find anyone to help her in the local record office for the town.
His name was Edward Valentine Hall (born ca. 1840 in Doncaster, Yorkshire)
He was a book keeper at the time of his death living in Maidenhead. My great grandmother Clara Hall was still alive in 1917 although I believe she died before 1925.

Many thanks

Ali

Thank you Frances! I am not sure if it is my greatgrandmother or not (she frequently lied about her age on the census records!) but will look into it! Thank you for kind efforts!

Try phoning Maidenhead Civic Offices and asking for the department that deals with cemeteries. They were really helpful to me. My great grandmother and father are buried in All Saints Cemetery (oddly they lived apart , but are now united  :) )which is really old and not used much now, that wasn't on computer until recently as far as I know.

Might be worth a shot - good luck !

:) Hi Ali,
I often go up to Maidenhead. Still have family that way.
The All Saints church has two cemeteries. One is alongside the church in
All Saints Avenue. The other is at the Oaken Grove End of the avenue.

I have to go to that one myself soon, to get info on my family, ask them which site it is.     Then let me know if I can find them for you.
