Herbert Thomas Llwynyrhebog

I am interested in any information about Herbert Thomas who was a farmer at Llwynyrhebog farm Cwmifor llandeilofawr in the 1851 census with his wife Margaret and first son William. I can then find no trace of him until 1871 when he appears as an innkeeper at the Corner house Carmarthen street llandeilo - with his wife Margaret and son Willliam and daughter Elizabeth.
My interest is that I think that my great grandfather John Thomas b 8/4/1854 was his son. John married Ann Thomas n 1877 and lived in Clase Llangefelach in the 1881 census.
I can find no trace of the marriage or any birth details of John Thomas. My information re the Herbert Thomas link is based on a family bible entry.
