Bere Alston burials.
« on: Wednesday 06 January 10 23:10 GMT (UK) »
Hi.

Does anyone know when the first burials started at Holy Trinity church, Bere Alston?
I believe burials, before the building of Holy Trinity, were performed at St.Andrew's, Bere Ferrers, but when did Bere Alston have it's own graveyard?

Any help would be gratefully received, thanks.

Hi David

If my memory serves me correctly the church was built in 1848 & prior to that the burials were in Bere Ferris. I live in the village.

Hi Suzanne.

Many thanks for your reply. The date of 1848 for the building of the church would seem to rule out an 1841 burial then.
I'll send a more detailed reply to your other post under 'Bere Alston - Missing Streets?'.

Thanks again, David.
