Thanks to the CWGC site I now have a photo of William's grave as well as the cause of death.
Great work team.

I hope this helps. His brother Bertie served with the Welsh Cyclists, then the Royal Engineers.

Hello to richards13,
Thank you so much for the information on the Rodd brothers. You have made my day and I now have a photo of William as well!
The article also gave me some added information on my relatives.

Do you have an interest in the Rodd family or are you another generous researcher?
Thanks again for you help

Private Rodd was one of the original "Cardiff Pals" - the nickname of the 11th Welsh. I have a long-term interest in the 11th - and have researched the Rodd brothers Previously. Have you got a picture of Bertie Elvan Rd? He died in 1934.

Good morning,
Thanks so much for your reply. I don't have a photo of Bertie, but would like one if that is possible.
We were not aware of the Rodd connection until I began family history research. As William and Bertie lost their mother in 1907 my father was not aware of his aunt Mary. As a result I know very little about the family.

I will keep an eye open.

Do you have any family remaining in Wales?

Yes, there are many distant relatives, some of whom I am in contact with.
My paternal grandfather was the only member of his family to leave the UK.
