Dickson, paris, paxton
« on: Thursday 07 January 10 21:38 GMT (UK) »
looking for info on James Dickson. He eludes me, and I know virtually nothing about him.

He was married twice once too an elizabeth Paris and later to an Anne paxton

He had a daughter Isabella who married a Thomas Greenlaw.

and a Daughter Elizabeth who married a Robert Aitchison.

he also had another daughter called Alice.

Anyone looking at these Dicksons perhaps??

Kind regards

Brian ;)

I think Thomas Greenlaw and Isabella are in Brockholes, Coldingham in 1841

Parish 732 ED 4 Page 3

They are both down as aged 40,  so Isabella born 1796-1801

In 1851 Isabella is down as b. Coldingham

Not sure about that baptism

Isabella Greenlaw m.s. Dickson died 1882, Abbey St Bathans, aged 83

Parents given as James Dickson, farm servant and Elizabeth m.s. Paris

Age fits though  and informants* sometimes get it wrong  :-\

*Informant was her son in law, Robert Aitchison (?)

l

He had a daughter Isabella who married a Thomas Greenlaw.

and a Daughter Elizabeth who married a Robert Aitchison.

Just looked at this again.  Was the Robert Aitchison, who was Isabella's son in law on her death cert the same one and was it Isabella and Thomas Greenlaw's daughter, Elizabeth, who married him or did succeeding generations intermarry?

Brian, could you please tell us where you got the information from about James's spouses and children. It might help us to track him down more easily.
