Vic Marriage or Death - Henry McGEE

Hello, We are now seeking any details on Henry McGee, migrated to Melb in 1841 from Belfast at 9yrs old, with parents & siblings.
Parents were John McGee & Mary Ward. (Name McGee can be seen spelt many ways.)

There was an inquest into the death of a Mary MCGEE in 1862: Died of Kerosene Explosion. Could be this one or the above one depending on what time of the year she died and when the inquest was held.

So it is possible that Henry married all 3 women { terrible luck},... that's if this is your Henry and  if it is the same man.
Did he have a second name James ? Do you know of any children ?

Hello Alison, Thanks for your amazing work...Times were tough in the early days of here in Melbourne...Mortality was high for all.

I don't have any other nother names for our Henry McGEE, but the other details that you report do stack up,...in time frame, & Roman Catholic & St Francis. So, you have given us lots to work on from now.

To clarify things, can we see a look up on the Inquests for Vic in 1862 to see more info that may give a link, ie get a ref number? I can go into the Vic GRO in Nth Melb to see the actual Inquest Papers, as we have done many time before...It is a valuable source also.

No, I don't know of any of his children at all. That is part of our search.

There is a death notice in 'The Argus' 29/4/1868
MCGEE Margaret Mary died 28/4/1868
at 18 Elgin Street, Carlton  Age 1 year 7 months

daughter of the late Henry James McGEE ( late of Elgin Street
Carlton) who died 29/4/1883.
I can't find any death listed in Victoria

There is a NSW death 1883 #788 for Henry Magee/ McGee aged 50 in Sydney. THis man is around the correct age to be your Henry McGee.
