In the last quarter of 1863, there is a birth registration in Leeds for a Hannah Enoch. The GRO reference is 9b 415 - http://www.freebmd.org.uk/

There is a good chance that this is your great grandmother.

It might be advisable to see this certificate and, if it is the correct one, it will specify what her mother's previous name(s) was(were).

To ensure that it is the right one you need to make it conditional upon the father being called David

Hi Geoff

Marriages Dec 1868

Enoch    Jane Ann         Leeds    9b   625
Price    William Henry         Leeds    9b   625

Living in Leeds in the 1871 Census RG10 Piece 4553 Folio 130 Page 24

Seems we can find out lots accept what you want ::) ::)

Maybe it is worth buying Hannah's birth certificate as posteria mentioned to check the mother's surname. For an extra £3 they will check it is correct.

Maybe it is worth buying Hannah's birth certificate as posteria mentioned to check the mother's surname. For an extra £3 they will check it is correct.

I am not sure that it is necessary to pay an extra £3 to have it checked for correctness. If using the GRO, you can specify various conditions (reference checking) and if they are not met, the GRO will refund some of the £7 fee.

Some local Register Offices will refund all of the fee if the conditions are not met
