Locating death Certificate

can't find the death certificate of Hector smith and Mary smith nee Bell born in Ireland
The 1841 census revail they were living in Clarkston Lanarkshire Scotland
Aged 62 and 61.
any help will do and appreciated..

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

Official registration did not start in Scotland until 1855. If they died before this date in Scotland then you may not find any reference to their deaths unfortunately. I've checked the 1851 census and can't easily see any entry for them.
