I am new to this rootschat site.   I have received a message from Russell (Newy) and have no idea how I can reply to him.

Can someone please let me know what I am doing wrong,

Do you know how to send a PM?  On the LHS of this page under your avatar there is a little green scroll.  That is the PM link.

RE Russel's message to you: after you have made 3 posts, you should be able to click on the reply button above his pm, assuming he sent a PM. 
If he sent an ordinary post on  a board, then click on the green button under HIS avatar.
