NEWTON HEATH

Can anyone tell me if there are any online photos of old Newton Heath/Failsworth, ie 19th century/early 20th?  I found a very good site for Ashton under Lyne which was useful for another branch of the family but have not found anything for NH area.

All suggestions welcomed!

Have you had a look at Manchester local image collection? They have pictures from 1800's and after, just put in the search either " Newton heath or Failsworth ".

Thanks MancsMan!!!  That book sounds good.

What a day I've had so far ... found site for old maps and sorted out where all the forebears were born, lived, married etc, and found a load more info on various census returns by using a bit of lateral thinking, including a ?xtimes uncle born 1818 who was a Chelsea Pensioner.  And here am I a rabid United fan, ha ha.

Trouble is ... my brain now hurts!
